Both professionals from the hotel food & beverage hospitality industry​,​ Carlo and Jennifer applies their 40+ combined years of hospitality experience​,​ along with their upbringing filled with family gatherings and events with the wider Filipinx and Igorot communities​,​ to provide the Calajo experience. Growing up as a Igorot-Filipinx-Americans​,​ Carlo and Jennifer present to you their version of Filipino food based on available ingredients to us in California​,​ flavors they both grew up with and techniques learned in their professional careers. At each family gathering​,​ Jennifer and Carlo practice what they do best​,​ bring people together. Jennifer remembers hearing the phrase​,​ "Calajo Mengan" at family parties​,​ which translates to​,​ "Come and eat" in Ibaloi​,​ Jennifer’s family dialect and native tribe.
