Force Majeure Clause

A contract clause covering cancellation for major events outside anyone’s control.
A force majeure clause spells out what happens if an event has to be canceled or postponed because of something beyond either party’s control, such as a natural disaster, government order, or other emergency. It can cover refunds, rescheduling, and who bears which costs.
Read yours carefully in every vendor and venue contract, and ask what specifically is covered before you sign. An experienced planner can help you review vendor contracts and spot gaps.
